Equipping up-and-coming tour professionals with Master Tour’s state-of-the-art tools

Industry-leading software Master Tour, is partnering with the Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) at Berklee College of Music to bring its platform to the next generation of tour professionals. Through this partnership, students in the institute’s BPMI Live program will learn about Master Tour through the course curriculum. Students will be granted access to the platform to manage events and concerts on campus–invaluable early exposure to the software that they will almost certainly encounter in their careers following graduation.

“Berklee is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful the moment they graduate and beyond,” says Morgan Milardo, managing director of BPMI. “We are thrilled to partner with Master Tour to offer our students growth opportunities both through curricular integration and practical applications outside of the classroom.”

For over 20 years, the top touring professionals have battle-tested Master Tour. The leading tour management platform has developed features to streamline every step of the touring journey, most recently launching standardized tech packs for venues–ensuring that touring production teams have the latest verified information for all venue-specific production details. 

As a result of this partnership, BPMI Live students will have access to Master Tour and all of its features–tour personnel tracking, travel itineraries, guest list management, accounting, venue database, and more.

“A lot of students go to college to study a particular field but don't know exactly what kinds of jobs they can pursue straight out of school,” explains Master Tour CEO Paul Bradley. “Master Tour not only teaches these students how to streamline touring operations, but it shows them a comprehensive list of career paths in the industry from tour manager to bus driver to lighting tech. Master Tour Launches Industry-First Standardized Tech Packs for Venues

Master Tour launched its online official venue tech pack as part of its staged release of Master Tour Venue. This critical record will provide touring production teams online access to the latest verified information for all venue-related production details.

Master Tour Venue standardized tech packs enable venue teams the ability to claim, verify and manage accurate production details highlighting a facility’s distinct features and day-of-show best practices. Each editable record contains 200+ data fields, supports video walk-thrus, detailed building imagery and large file attachments - all available online, complete with timestamps and edit logs. Touring teams accessing this accurate venue data benefit by being better equipped for situations they will encounter upon arrival at a specific venue. Master Tour- powered tours can import these verified venue records directly into their application and be further notified of any field-level changes a venue makes.

Master Tour launches the industry’s first and only comprehensive production workflow, connecting tour and venue data for all touring professionals.

Over the past twelve years, the Master Tour team has developed the leading platform for touring professionals, addressing the daily challenges tour managers face on the road. Their flagship product, Master Tour 3 (MT3), has become a staple for touring professionals. 

With a robust community of over 65,000 monthly active users, Master Tour is now expanding its platform to venues, in its biggest product expansion in recent history. After compiling and studying thousands of venue tech packs, Master Tour has developed the first-ever industry standard tech pack. This critical set of venue production data will be securely hosted online by Master Tour, managed by the venue, and made available to sync by all touring accounts.

This new product promises to change the game for touring, much as the original Master Tour did. Venues can now upload and manage time-critical production data and share it across Master Tour’s loyal community of active touring users - ensuring the most in-depth and up-to-date  production information is distributed and available instantly.

“Better event outcomes start with accurate data,” says Master Tour Founder Paul Bradley. “Touring and venue teams are constantly challenged by the volume of information sharing necessary to execute events: detailed schedules, production equipment needs, catering requests, parking - the list goes on. One missed email, attached pdf, text or errant spreadsheet entry has the potential to have downstream effects that incur unplanned event costs and consume margin.”

Master Tour will launch its Venue Tech Pack solution during the Live Production Summit in Palm Springs January 19-22, 2023.  Additional features slated for release throughout 2023 include the first-ever connected advance and a comprehensive event production management solution. The former breaks new ground by mapping production specs from the tour and venue into an online shareable form, allowing managers to identify key requests and issues specific to an event. The latter enables venue production teams to assign and track tasks, import permissioned tour data shared by a Master Tour tour, manage staff calendars and much more. 

“Master Tour’s unique position allows us to serve as the data hub for tours and venues. Creating industry standards across both sides of the event equation will facilitate more efficient data sharing and help teams focus on the items that make each event unique,” says Bradley. “By launching our standardized venue tech pack, tour managers and their teams can more quickly access the latest verified venue data from inside the Master Tour system and come to quickly identify possible issues when compared to their touring requirements.”

Tour management software pioneers, Master Tour, will host the first-ever Master Tour Awards, with winners to be announced during the 2023 Live Production Summit on Friday, January 20. The conference will convene in Palm Desert, California from January 19-21.
